Day 40: 27th May, 2019
Today we went to London to meet up with other bereaved parents. Two of Zach's friends came over and stayed at the house to take care of the dogs and as they were here, they said the doorbell kept ringing constantly and wouldn’t stop but no one was there. One of the girls was in the living room and said to Zach "please stop ringing the bell because it was getting the dogs wound up." The other girl was on her own, in the kitchen, also talking to Zach and his room is directly above the kitchen. Both girls at separate times heard footsteps in different parts of the house and mentioned it to each other. Once was in Zach’s room, above the kitchen and then, in our bedroom, which is directly above the living room. The doorbell was still ringing on it's own at this point so they decided to both move rooms and sit together. They said as soon as they did, the doorbell stopped straight away and never rang again. As they moved into the new room, they said that Scruffy jumped up on the couch and looked out the window and cried but no one was there. They said he kept crying and whimpering but at the same time his tail was wagging and then he seemed to calm down and was okay. When Martin and I got home, I had thought Scruffy was super excited and over happy, being really silly and jumping up and kissing me in the face. It was like he was telling me he had seen Zach and I now know after talking to the girls, that he did and was letting me know!
