Deacon Blue

Day 84: 10th July, 2019

I woke up this morning and asked Zach to talk to me. He put the band Deacon Blue in my mind so I looked them up. I have never even heard of them or listened to any of their songs but there is an album called Believers and the song called The Believers and it is about going to heaven and going home. It stated “Believers is about the journey we all take into the dark. You come to that point in your life where whatever you’ve been told, whatever the evidence you’ve been presented with-you just don’t know what the answer is. At which point you can only rely on the instincts of your heart. You either take the leap or you don’t.” I know this is Zach telling me I have to move forward and take that leap! Later I was going for a walk and went to the Chester cathedral and had my lunch outside. There were a few of us there including Zach and Clancey, our lab who has since passed and is with Zach and we all sat together under this tree. While I was sitting there, they were making a beautiful flower arrangement with Blue and yellow medal forget me nots. I didn’t realise at the time, but Glenda contributed to a charity at the hospital in remembrance of Oscar, Zach and her dad and it was for them. As I sat there, a black bird came up so I gave it some of my food. As soon as I fed it another 20-30 birds appeared so I started feeding them and it made me chuckle thinking about Zach and the chickens at the farm in a previous post I have written. When I got home, I saw a post on Facebook about the flowers at the cathedral from a post that Glenda added with the pictures and just then it hit me, that Zach had sent me there for lunch with him.
