Walking the dogs

Day 139: 3rd September, 2019

Martin woke up and heard a dog bark, it made a loud woofing sound. He looked out the windows and there were no dogs around and ours were asleep so he didn’t think much of it. When we got up and had coffee I was telling Martin a story and I said “The dogs” but didn’t mean to, I meant to say something else, which then prompted him to tell me about the woof that he heard earlier and that he then realised it was Clancey, our yellow lab who is with Zach. He said it was so clear and loud, it was like it was right next to him in the room, but he looked around and there were no dogs near except ours and they were not barking. A friend of Zach’s was staying with us and when he woke up, he said he looked in the mirror facing his bed and he saw Zach’s torso. He said it was so clear, he had on his orange t-shirt and his arm. He looked back at the mirror and rubbed his eyes and Zach was still there. He looked away and back again and he was still there. He then looked away and towards the window where Zach was stood and he disappeared. When he looked back at the mirror, Zach was gone. He said he knew it was him as it was so clear but really took him by surprise because he wasn't expecting it. Later this afternoon I took the dogs out for a walk/jog and while we were jogging, I heard Zach joke with me and was laughing as he always did when I tried to run. For those of you who know me, you know how much I hate it! Then right in front of me a large piece of cotton floated right across my face, but really slowly as I stood there starring at it, I heard Zach tell me I was going too slow. So I then laughed. As we walked forward and came up to the next corner I see a sign that says “Thank you for slowing down!” I laughed again and the dogs and I turned around to go home and on the last stretch I said to the boys “Are you guys ready” and the instant I said it, there was a rat that appeared in front of us on the path and both dogs took off and nearly pulled me down into the canal. I swear it wasn’t there, it just appeared. Something Zach would absolutely do and think it was hilarious! Once I got the boys under control, we "walked" not jogged and we passed a guy with JK on his shirt (just kidding) and then the first song that came on while I was walking back, was “Don’t look back in anger” and the second one was “I don’t wanna miss a thing.” We never change when we transition and he is still just as cheeky as ever! I took Zach’s Alfa to the shop for a service this afternoon and while I was there, they said for no reason, the car alarms kept going off but only on the Alfas. Then one of the girls that Zach used to work with, showed me a picture that had been on the wall above her desk for nearly three years and she had never noticed it until today and when you look at it, it looked exactly like Zach’s face. When I went back to pick up the Alfa they told me the alarm had gone off on the silver Alfa Quad, which was in the show room and they couldn’t get it to stop so they had to unplug the battery to turn it off. The story behind the silver Alfa is that, we were debating which one to but, the silver one or the black one and we decided to buy the black one.
