The back up plan

Day 116: 11th August, 2019

Martin was driving home from work and had really bad chest pains which he has never had before. He thought he was going to have to pull over because it hurt so bad. He thought maybe he was having a heart attack. He got home and told me about it but by the time he walked in the door, he said was fine. Later on, we headed to bed and Martin woke up in the middle of the night with a message from Zach. He said Zach came to him and it was so clear. Zach said the chest pains he had felt were to tell him about a possible heart condition he had that we we not aware of. It was his “back up plan.” When Zach had worked out at Porsche and Body HQ a few different times, he said that he had a hard time breathing, got really dizzy and felt sick. He was in amazing shape and I remember telling him he should go get it checked out, which he never did, but now we think that he was telling us he had an underlying heart condition and that is what was causing the dizziness and sickness. Zach told Martin that was what the chest pains were that he experienced on his way home from work and if he had gone to the doctor, they would have found it and he would have never been able to race again.
